Museums of Manila

Visiting Manila is not only walking in Intramuros. There are actually a lot of interesting museums that deserve to be seen.

National Museum
Location: Taft Ave, Ermita, Manila city
Operating days/time: Tuesdays-Sundays/
 10AM-5PM
Fee: Php150 for adult, Php120 for senior citizens, Php for students; free admission every Sundays, during the National Heritage month (entire month of May)
Not to miss: Spoliarium by Juan Luna

Ayala Museum
Location: Makati Avenue corner De La Rosa Street, Greenbelt Park, Makati City
Operating days/time: Tuesdays-Sundays/
 9AM-6PM
Fee: Php125 for students, senior citizens and Makati residents;  Php225 for adults who are non-Makati residents
Not to miss: "Gold of Ancestors: Pre-colonial Treasures in the Philippines" exhibit

The Mind Museum
Location: JY Campos Park, 3rd Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig
Operating days/time: Tuesdays-Sundays/
 9AM-6PM
Fee: Php190 for public school students, teachers; Php475 for private school students; Php625 for adult; Php750 for the all-day pass
Not to miss: Mindburst weekends

Lopez Museum and Library
Location: GF, Benpres Bldg., Exchange Road, Pasig City
Operating days/time: Mondays-Saturdays/
 8AM-5PM
Fee: Php100
Not to miss: 1st edition of the Doctrina Cristiana, believed to be one of the earliest books printed in the Philippines

Jorge B. Vargas Museum
Location: University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City
Operating days/time: Tuesdays-Saturdays/
 9AM-5PM
Fee:  for UP students, alumni, faculty and employees - Php20 except
Wednesday when admission is free; Php30 for everyone else
Not to miss: The Vargas collection which includes the works of Juan Luna, Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo, Fernando Amorsolo, Guillermo Tolentino, Vicente Manansala, Cesar Legaspi and Victorio Edades among others

Marikina Shoe Museum
Location: J.P. Rizal St., Marikina City
Operating days/time:  open daily/
 8AM-5PM except holidays
Fee:  Php50
Not to miss:  Former First Lady Imelda Marco’s shoes– all 749 pairs of them!


Bahay Tsinoy
Location:  Kaisa Heritage Center at 32 Anda St. cor. Cabildo St., Intramuros (near Manila Cathedral), Manila city
Operating days/time: Tuesdays-Sundays/
 1PM to 5PM
Fee:  Php60 for students and Php100 for adults
Not to miss: wax figures portraying the early life of our Tsinoy community
